AsurveyofVaticanemployeesconductedbytheVaticanLayEmployeesAssociation(ADLV)foundbroaddissatisfactionwithcareeradvancement,widespreaddistrustofleadership,andsignificantreportsofworkplacemistreatmentamongrespondents. Thepoll—carriedoutbetweenDec.15,2025,andJan.7andpublishedontheADLVwebsite—isbeingdescribedbytheassociationasthefirstrepresentativesurveyofstaffworkingacrossVaticanofficesandentities.TheADLVfunctionsasaninternalemployeeassociation,thoughitdoesnothaveformalunionrecognitionintheVatican’slegalsystem,wherestrikesarenotpermitted. AccordingtotheADLV,250peoplerespondedtothequestionnaire,about80%ofwhomaremembersoftheassociation.TheHolySeeemploysroughly4,200workers,thoughmostarenotaffiliatedwiththeADLV—alimitationthegroupacknowledgedwhiledescribingthesamp
